Welcome to Chearsley Cricket Club! This is my second year as Chairman and I’m really looking forward to seeing the club continue to make great progress in 2010, both on and off the field.
The 2010 season marks the beginning of a lot of changes at the club. We are extending the clubhouse to provide better social and changing facilities and rebuilding our practice areas to offer much better practice facilities than we have had in the past.
But that is just the beginning, because we have set upon a very ambitious plan to create an entirely new ground, about 100yards further up the Winchendon Road from the current site for occupancy by 2014.
The new pitch will be bigger and flatter than the current one and I’ve asked our Groundsman to be thinking about achieving a county standard within the next five years! Along with the new ground will come a larger and purpose built pavilion so that we can offer the very best of facilities possible.
CCC has been built on setting challenges for itself and then achieving them and I am confident that with my very strong Committee and a fair wind we will continue to go from strength to strength. Do come along with us for the ride!
